In today’s fast-paced urban life, home has become our most vital safe haven. Design is not merely about aesthetic appeal—it is about nurturing relationships between people, nature, and the spaces they inhabit.
This project returns to the essence of design, weaving together light, material, presence, and void to craft a residence rich in rhythm and warmth.
At its heart lies the island sofa: more than a focal point in the living room, it serves as a vessel for emotional connection, bridging spaces and binding hearts.
Living Room: The Sofa—An Island and a Lighthouse
The living room, the heart of any home, is designed with an open layout that naturally extends the gaze outward. Placed centrally, the island sofa’s freely configurable form breaks free from traditional row seating, creating a "circular zone" where family members gather inward while engaging outward.
Crafted from soft, matte fabric with a delicate texture, paired with a low, broad profile and unrestrained structure, the sofa softens the room’s rational geometry. Its "island-like" quality transcends spatial organization—it is a philosophy of living. Sitting within it, one feels time unfold with the seasons, and conversations flow effortlessly.
Solid wood floors echo the sofa’s warm tones, while the minimally decorated accent wall keeps the focus on the island sofa, forming a space charged with emotional resonance.
Dining Area: Material Resonance Extending Life’s Warmth
The dining area, built on minimalism with materials as its substance, centers on a solid wood dining table whose natural grain takes center stage. A floor-to-ceiling solid wood cabinet along the wall provides ample storage while blending seamlessly into the space.
Seamless yet understated transitions between materials integrate the dining area into the home’s broader narrative. Complementing the sofa’s material, soft gray cushions add a gentle transition to the dining setting.
No longer confined to a single function, the space becomes a fluid stage, with the kitchen, dining area, and living room connected through interactive bridges.
Reception Room: Where Structure Meets Emotion
The underground reception space defies traditional functional boundaries, evolving into a multifunctional hub for socializing, reading, and leisure. A vaulted ceiling allows skylights to channel light from above to the floor, casting an ethereal, almost celestial gaze.
Custom-built bookshelves and sideboards along the walls offer robust storage without sacrificing artistry. The space exudes calm restraint, yet the island sofa adapts here—appearing in modular configurations that are versatile for sitting, lounging, or reconfiguring to suit social needs.
This is more than a gathering spot for guests; it is a sanctuary for family bonding. Light casting over the sofa’s surface weaves a poem of softness and solidity, echoing the home’s serene mood.

The children’s room balances growth and play, with blank walls and simple furniture leaving room for a child’s creativity. Unrestricted by over-definition, it grants them the possibility to converse with the world.
